Why Parents Love KaiPod Learning Pods

Frequently
Asked Questions

  • Each of our KaiPod locations supports a group of students who meet in-person at a KaiPod learning pod to learn together, collaborate, and socialize with the support of a dedicated KaiPod Learning Coach.

KaiPod Learning is designed for students in 3rd-12th grade. To ensure a small group learning environment, we limit each learning pod (one lower and one upper) to a maximum of 12 students per day. Each pod is supported by an experienced KaiPod Learning Coach — a 12:1 ratio!

While at the KaiPod learning pod, students work on their curriculum with the support of their KaiPod Learning Coach, participate in tailored enrichment activities, and socialize with their peers. Because our program is so individualized, every day at KaiPod is different.

  • KaiPod Learning is pushing the boundaries of what we mean by ‘school.’

For families leaving traditional schools, KaiPod can take the best and leave the rest. We provide both part-time and full-week options, individualized academic support for any curriculum of your choice, and engaging learning activities and clubs.

For those interested in greater flexibility, KaiPod offers part-time options and a wide variety of curriculum resources for your child’s unique needs.

For all families, KaiPod is your partner in taking charge of your child’s learning and building a customized educational plan to meet your needs.

  • KaiPod Learning Coaches are former classroom teachers or tutors with expertise working with small groups and a passion for individualized learning. We review hundreds of applications to hire only the most inspiring and qualified coaches.

Every day, KaiPod Learning Coaches provide individual academic support and teach executive functioning skills, such as time management, goal setting, and note-taking. They always integrate student passions into their enrichment activities.

Every KaiPod Learning Coach undergoes a comprehensive background check, CPR/First Aid certification, and KaiPod Learning’s own rigorous training and professional development.

  • KaiPod learning pods are designed for students in 3rd-12th grade. All of our locations have separate groups for younger and older students.

  • KaiPod Learning is designed to adapt to your family’s needs, not the other way around. For students transitioning from traditional public or private schools, we strongly recommend the full-time plan where your child attends a KaiPod learning pod five days per week from 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. In some locations, after care support may also be available.

For families who want more flexibility, you can choose a part-time option (as little as 2 days per week) and customize your own daily start and end times!

  • If you are transitioning from a traditional public or private school, we will work with you to create a customized education plan for your child. For most students, this includes a self-paced curriculum so your child can learn at their own pace, moving faster or slower based on their own understanding. These options may include accredited online schools, workbook-based homeschool programs, or something even more customized.

Our academic team can provide private consultations to recommend resources that align with your family’s education goals and your child’s learning needs.

  • Definitely not!

A typical day in a KaiPod learning pod is a mix of academic time and collaborative time. During academic time, students may spend up to 2-3 hours a day on an online platform. However, since we work with you to develop a customized education plan, we can align the program with your desires with regards to screen time.

During collaborative time, the KaiPod Learning Coaches encourage all students to go screen-free and go outdoors, play board games, and just interact with their peers.

  • KaiPod Learning is the in-person supplement to the family’s school or curriculum of choice. So, if your child is enrolled in an accredited online school, they will receive a diploma and transcript from their online school of record.

  • Not necessarily!

We work with you to develop your child’s personalized learning plan based on your family’s education goals and your child’s learning needs. If your child is enrolled in an accredited online school, they will not need to register as a homeschooler. On the other hand, if you choose a homeschool curriculum, we can help you register as a homeschool family in your state.

  • We offer flexible plans and pricing varies by location. Please view your local KaiPod Learning pod's page to see pricing in your area.

Scholarships are available based on financial need. Depending on your state, you may be able to use your Education Savings Account (ESA) or scholarship funds towards KaiPod Learning fees.

  • We know trying something new can be scary, but rest assured, we can flex KaiPod to suit your child's needs. Your Learning Coach is going to work with you and your child to tailor the experience. And, if it really does not work, we offer a One Month Happiness Guarantee, which you can consider your 30-day trial period.
